{ {DMA|The definition and the translations don't match. Definition describes an afterburner, not the process of afterburning --Tosca 00:57, 2 November 2006 (CET)}}

To add a few question marks, compare Wikipedia:Afterburner. It lists an additional jet engine device, a ZZ Top album, a video game, among others, but what is defined here is found under Wikipedia:Catalytic converter instead. This whole entry seems questionable. --Mkill 11:37, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

The Wikipedia article is incomplete. If you search Google for afterburner flue, you can see the term is also used for afterburning devices in stoves and furnaces. It does seem silly to apply it to motor vehicles, though; that would indeed be a catalytic converter. But we can make the scope a moot point by rewriting the definition to describe the process rather than the device, which also solves the translation inconsistency problem. I will go ahead and do that now. – McDutchie 16:44, 29 April 2009 (EDT)
