That depends. When there is a language where there are two words for this then yes, otherwise no. This is also a situation where the notion of the not exact meaning is extremely relevant. GerardM 21:01, 18 February 2007 (EST)

I see. For leg, I changed Expression:足 to non-exact meaning, since it includes both the leg and the foot. But I wasn't sure if it should have its own DM as well. If the definion clearly says "excluding the hand" as in the case of the leg, unchecking the "exact" flag is straightforward, but in this case it is not. This is an academic question for this DM since the Japanese word excludes the hand. However, there is an (old) Japanese word for the lower arm and the hand as one...
