DefinedMeaning talk:belt (344311)
Is it on purpose that the belt is only defined as used to "support", and not to fix, as for a dress or a gown? I'm thinking of the French word "ceinturon", used, as far as I know, only to support trousers, and supposed to be strong. The word is mainly used for men's leather belt, probably also for female soldiers' belt. --Fiable.biz 07:32, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
