DefinedMeaning talk:branch (6343)
This article (branch (6343)) needs attention because:
It has been added to this category for attention. Thank you for your patience.
Current English (presumably defining/first) Definition is The woody part of a tree arising from the trunk and usually dividing. which strikes me as a very odd way of explaining a branch. First of all it sounds as if a tree only has one such (yes it might be interpreted differently, but that was my first impression); second, I presume woody part is to differentiate from leaves and such that might also grow directly on the trunk.
May I suggest moving the current Definitions to Alternative and as main use: The thicker woody divisions of a tree, especially those growing directly on the trunk. (improvements more than welcome!)--Sannab 11:19, 2 October 2006 (CEST)
- If the other definition has to stay, it should at least be formulated as "A woody part" rather than "The woody part". I have done so. (The definition in language "swe" (Swedish) is out of sync. The definition in language "pol" (Polish) is out of sync. The definition in language "slk" (Slovak) is out of sync.) Ce`dric 12:14, 2 October 2006 (CEST)
