Quote from de.wikipedia: "Mischwald ist ein vorwiegend umgangssprachlicher Begriff, der Wälder bezeichnet, in denen Laub- und Nadelbäume gemeinsam vorkommen." See also DefinedMeaning:mixed_woodland_(5061)! --Ortografix 17:44, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
From what I read in Wikipedia, it is the same in French and English ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperate_broadleaf_and_mixed_forests reads "The term "mixed forest" comes from the inclusion of coniferous trees as a canopy component of these forests." )
I suggest that we delete the current DM (since, as you said, a forest with several species is pretty much any forest) and move the translations to DefinedMeaning:mixed_woodland_(5061) which already has the correct definition. --Kip 18:00, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
I agree unless this definition is meant to discern forests from forestal monocultures, what I doubt. --Ortografix 20:28, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
