DefinedMeaning talk:narrower terms (5)

From OmegaWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

I included DefinedMeaning:hyponym (8142) here. The definition was:

  • English: A term which is described entirely by another more comprising term.
  • Finnish: Sana tai termi, jonka semanttinen alue sisältyy jonkin toisen sanan tai termin semanttiseen alueeseen.

Actually, this definition is much better, and we should think about using it here instead. --Mkill 00:03, 5 March 2007 (EST)

This article (narrower terms (5)) needs attention because:
I agree that the above defintions are better than the one given now since, for example, it doesn't matter if a term is written in a thesaurus or not. And maybe it should be mentioned that this is a term used in linguistic, though probably this belongs in the "usage" field.
Beside that we should clearify if hyperonym is an antonym of hyponym or just a related term and vice versa (I'd say it's the former). --dh 03:38, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
It has been added to this category for attention. Thank you for your patience.
