DefinedMeaning talk:travolgere (639016)
I cannot see this meaning (take away violently, drag away, make fall) of "overwhelm" in Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary, in Wiktionary, or in Merriam-Webster. Isn't it a mistake? Since the definition is not translated from Italian, people tend to translate from the English... --Fiable.biz 03:33, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, the definitions from Destination Italie (easily recognizable because they have only a definition in Italian) are sometimes a bit strange, and sometimes even wrong. Considering the French, English and German, it seems that it is the same as the DM DefinedMeaning:crush_(441900) (also fits the Italian translation).
- But considering the Italian definition, it seems closer to French: arracher, German: fortreißen, English: ?tear away/tear apart?
- And the other translations are a bit strange. If we cannot correct this definition in some way, I'd say delete. --Kip 06:08, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
