DefinedMeaning talk:zuster (5560)
Is this the equivalent of the English "nurse"? From what I'm getting by the definitions, it says something like "A female person who works in a hospital, nursing home, or similar insitution." but this wouldn't really consitute an actual nurse, so I'm just wondering if it's a different expression or if the definition needs some work done. - The Dutch definitions begins by "A female person whose work is taking care of people..."
- It seems to this "taking care of" (verzorgen, in the German definition pflegen) is not specific enough. A nurse seems to be a highly qualified person, not everyone who takes care of the sick.
- Zuster is a female nurse. The general Dutch term is verpleegkundige. Andres 23:05, 5 November 2006 (CET)
