Expression talk:Mapping

From OmegaWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The definitions (and possibly the translations as well) seem to be messed up: While Breton and Piedmontese appear to talk about cartographic maps, the English description speaks of mappings in a scientific or analytic sense. I thought about simply changing the English description to fit the other two, but firstly am I not able to fully understand and thus translate them and secondly are there already several translations whose meaning I can't understand either. Therefore: HELP! Dh 13:12, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

The expression here belongs to the collection "Omegawiki" i.e. is only there for the purpose of translating the interface. Therefore, the definition in fact does not matter much, but you are right that they are different. In this case, a Mapping in Omegawiki is a link between two datasets (for example between the community database and Swiss-Prot). So I would say: the English def is correct, the two others should be simply deleted. --Kipcool 13:35, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
