DM2: "The drink made by infusing dried leaves or buds in hot water.", with no mention of the plants used this way.
In my opinion, this does not describe tea but instead "tisane" or "herbal tea". See eg. Tisane: "any herbal infusion not made from the leaves of the tea bush (Camellia sinensis). [...] Many blends of real tea are prepared by adding other plants to an actual tea (black, oolong, green, yellow or white tea); for example, the popular Earl Grey tea is black tea with bergamot. Such preparations are varieties of tea, not tisanes."
I think we should have two different DMs, one for infusions containing the Camellia sinensis plant, one for infusions that don't.
