Definition of tongue (organ)
I think that the current definition (for the organ meaning) does too much explain the use of the organ, which now includes moving food around, tasting and speaking. However it fails to mention licking, gathering air for smelling (snakes), French kissing and probably many other that I can't think of right now. I suggest that only an anatomic definition well be provided as the main definition. That would be something like:
- The flexible muscular organ in the mouth of some animals (mammals, reptiles, birds, fish).
The description of the many uses of this amazingly versatile organ could be moved in an alternative definition. For me this information is too species-specific to he acceptable in the main defition. The amount of all, or even most of the uses to keep all the species content, seems so much that it would make the definition unnecessarily heavy. --Mikalaari 10:16, 23 August 2006 (CEST)
