Wikimedia Commons (http://commons.wikimedia.org) serves as a media repository for the various Wikipedia. It contains many media (mostly images and audio) which are freely usable. It is organized into categories, where one category usually represents one concept, and is often equivalent to a DefinedMeaning at OmegaWiki.
It is possible with this annotation to link a category at Commons with a DefinedMeaning. When viewing an Expression: page, the link will appear on the side of the screen with the logo of Commons.
When you edit a Expression: or DefinedMeaning: page, there is the possibility to add DefinedMeaning annotations at the bottom, between Classes and Collections.
- Select Annotation => Link.
- In the dropdown box, select "Commons category"
- In the URL, past the full URL of the relevant category, e.g. " http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Computer_mouse "
- As a label, put the name of the category, e.g. " Computer mouse "
