A Relation is a link between two entities (words) in OmegaWiki. There are two types of relations:
- A semantic relation, is a relation between two Help:DefinedMeanings and is language-independent.
- A lexical relation, is a relation between two Help:Syntrans, i.e. two words of a specific language.

A semantic relation, or DM-DM relation in the OmegaWiki jargon, is a relation between two DefinedMeanings, i.e. between two concepts, independently of a language.
Any concept can use one of the following relations:
A DefinedMeaning with a class can use relations that are defined for that class.
Below is a list of class-specific relations.
A semantic relation, or Syntrans-Syntrans relation in the OmegaWiki jargon, is a relation between two Syntrans, i.e. between two words of a language attached to a specific meaning.
Some relations are the same for all languages (e.g. "is an abbreviation of") while some relations are available for some languages only (e.g. "British English variant").
