Bengali script[edit]

The Bengali script, or Bangla script, is used to write the Indic languages Bangla, Assamese, Manipuri and Sylheti. There are minor variations in the script between these languages. It is similar to Devanagari. The alphabet has 11 vovel signs, 5 modifiers, and 35 letters denoting the consonats.
