Blissymbols, or Blissymbolics, were devised by Charles K. Bliss in the time around 1949 to augment communication between people of different tongues who had no other way of understanding each other, such as a common spoken language. The scripts glyhps are ideographs representing basic concepts. They do not relate to any specific language.
There is a an institution, Blissymbolics Communication International, that coordinates and authorises the further development of Blissymbols.
It is likely that, in OmegaWiki, Blissymbols are to be handled as an artificial language, written in the Blissymbols script.
