Old Italic Scripts[edit]
These scripts were descendants of the ancient Greek and Phoenician scripts, and mainly died out after the invasion of the Romans into Italy, when they were later superceeded by the Latin script.
They were alphabetic, and have been used both left-to-right, and right-to-left. Usually with a switch of direction, glyphs representing the letters were mirrored.
