So I thought, "maybe I'll try to learn Portuguese, but I'm too cheap to buy a bunch of Berlitz CDs." Then I thought, "surely someone out there has put together a good, free Portuguese-English database, I'll just go download it and write a flashcard application to pick up some vocabulary."

So I searched and surfed and poked and prodded, and here I am.

What I want out of the deal: better free tools to learn languages, and a programmatic interface to OmegaWiki to develop those tools. Like, say, XMLRPC bindings for MediaWiki.
