Hi, as you might have already noted we are working on the OLPC Children's Dictionary. Actually I am the one trying to get as many people contributing as possible and therefore I prepared this message. I am wondering if you would like to help us and work on ten words: OLPC Children's Dictionary/1000 Basic words/Wordgroup 001. What does contribute mean? Translate the definitions and words into your mother tongue (est) :-) I really hope to see your "Yes I will do" note on my discussion page :-) I will then add the template to make sure nobody else will work on these 10 words. Thank you! --Sabine 20:18, 8 October 2006 (CEST)

Shouldn't the language of the definitios be simpler in a special children's dictionary ?[edit]

Hi mmhh well perhaps a better name would be school dictionary, I guess by the OLPC project they try to reach the whole population in the areas, the school environment is just the best starting. Pupils will bring them to their homes etc. Well yes, the 1000 basic words derived from english - this makes sense just a startingpoint.  ;-) --MartinMai 13:07, 27 October 2006 (CEST)

Potential edit conflicts[edit]

Hi, please do not edit recently changed definitions within less than 10 minutes. Edit conflicts cause a loss of data. See Special:Recentchanges --Ortografix 14:42, 29 October 2006 (CET)

I'm aware of this rule. I am sorry if I have forgotten it in some particular case. Andres 14:44, 29 October 2006 (CET)

Ok, after reading the English Wikipedia, I agree with you (though, I wasn't aware of that, and the French Wikipedia doesn't mention the existence of several meanings). It's too bad we don't have a special field to add notes, these 2 meanings would need it. Btw, I also added an hypernymy relationships between the two meanings. Kipcool 11:53, 16 November 2006 (CET)

Do you mean rings? I added a third DM (see anneau) and there should be more of them. First the tradition as to what definition to prefer id different in different countries, and everywhere different authors may have different definitions. The same applies to the Markov chains which are defined in several different ways (with different degrees of generality). Andres 12:12, 16 November 2006 (CET)
