Welcome to OmegaWiki[edit]

Welcome to OmegaWiki, the Ultimate Wiktionary, glad you could come. OmegaWiki is an exciting new experimental project (nothing like it has been done before) aiming to unite all words in all languages. Naturally, it has many problems and we don't really know what we're doing yet. Please bear with us.

Currently, editing is very limited and only in the hands of a few trusted and experienced individuals but if you want to help, you can add {{Attention|<problems with article>}} to the talk page of articles with errors in them. Also, take a peek at your local portal (Portal:xxx, where xxx is the three-digit ISO 639-3 code for your language).

Please read about the DefinedMeaning :-)

Once again, glad you could make it! If you have any queries or questions, try the International Beer Parlour or IRC channel. The kind people there would be glad to help. Siebrand 20:55, 5 August 2006 (CEST)

Hi, I am interested in adding the Reta Vortaro to the OmegaWiki which is a free Esperanto dictionary (under the GPL) with its data in XML format including translations to other languages, but I unfortunately do not have time to build a bot to import the data. I will talk to Erik Möller after his talk here at Wikimania in Boston to get more details. --Chuck SMITH 21:15, 5 August 2006 (CEST)

OLPC[edit]

Hi, as you might have already noted we are working on the OLPC Children's Dictionary. Actually I am the one trying to get as many people contributing as possible and therefore I prepared this message. I am wondering if you would like to help us and work on some of the words on this list: OLPC Children's Dictionary/1000 Basic words/red links in English adding the missing defined meanings. It would be really great :-) Thank you! --Sabine 22:04, 8 October 2006 (CEST)
