Welcome to OmegaWiki ! I hope you have fun on our new project :) Please read about the DefinedMeaning. When you have questions, please ask consider using the IRC channel. :) Thanks, GerardM 20:55, 12 July 2006 (CEST)

This is no problem. Two DefinedMeanings can have the same Expression (example Druck) in the same language. I don't know of a german example in OmegaWiki, but see for example bor in Hungarian. This has 2 different meanings: leather and skin. HenkvD 10:58, 13 July 2006 (CEST)

Harry Potter[edit]

Hi Mkill, it might seem strange to you, but we need that glossary to translate a fanfiction story of Harry Potter + Lord of the Rings into Neapolitan. The search for a single term, to know how it was translated often takes half an hour - so yes: that glossary has its place on WZ like so many others that will come. Ciao! ;-) --Sabine 21:01, 6 August 2006 (CEST)

I'll remind you when you start complaining about me adding roleplaying game vocabulary and other geek stuff... --Mkill 22:35, 6 August 2006 (CEST)
It looks like Sabine answered :P. And no, we'll not complain about you adding such words - they all have translations and they all are helpful. I specifically asked GerardM about it - and he said that such vocabulary is good. Thanks and regards, —Celestianpower Háblame 00:04, 7 August 2006 (CEST)
Role playing game vocabulary ... that sounds great ... you cannot imagine how useful such stuff is for computer game localisation :-) --Sabine 23:38, 7 August 2006 (CEST)
You have a point there... I started with Expression:Feuerball. --Mkill 01:13, 9 August 2006 (CEST)

Hab grad gesehen, dass du dort im Archiv was geschrieben hast. Soll die Diskussion nicht besser wieder auf der richtigen Seite verlagert werden? (Sorry, ich hatte das Teil archiviert, weil es einfach riesig geworden war und hatte alles, wo über eine Woche lang nix passiert ist, dorthin ausgelagert. Wusste nicht, dass da nochwas kommen würde.) Grüße, --Thogo (Talk) 21:14, 7 August 2006 (CEST)

multilingual definition[edit]

Yes, I will, also it's a bit tricky because there is no exact french or english equivalent for that concept. --Fulup 06:18, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

If there is no English or French translation, because these languages don't have a word for it, then it is okay not to add one. After all, it is not unusual that one language has a word where another has not. But, in that case it is even more important that you translate the definition, because English or French speakers need an explanation of the concept where their language has no word for it. --Mkill 08:13, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

--Mkill 06:43, 26 March 2007 (EDT)

Hepburn romanization, etc.[edit]

Hi Mkill! It is now possible to have Hepburn romanization, or any other annotation you want for Japanese words. There is a discussion at Meta:International_Beer_Parlour#Romanizations.

I also want to implement katakana transcriptions for kanji words, but I don't know how to call this annotation.

We implement a feature only if a contributor shows interest in it, so tell me what you think you need for Japanese. Thanks. --Kipcool 08:59, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
