Hi. For some reason, Google Alerts has just brought the details of your conversation with GerardM to my attention now; if you're still interested in af-nl, perhaps there are other ways to go than straight-forward use of a word list: there is a tool called LIHLA that performs sentence alignment, using similarity between words as a factor, which might help to create a word list, and also, the en-af pair in apertium has a good enough dictionary to start with, and there are numerous en-nl corpora available. Using statistical tools, and the apertium crossdics tool, we can possibly create an af-nl dictionary quite quickly: but this would need to be checked. Enthusiasm and persistence pay off more than experience in the apertium world--you can create experience easily, not so with enthusiasm :) -- Jimregan 20:14, 18 February 2009 (EST)
