Help:Editing

Hi, thanks for creating this page!

At some point, I had also modified MediaWiki:Searchmenu-new to allow to add a new expression when it is not found. For some reason, the English version had disappeared (so I did the modification again), but the French version was still ok, so I didn't notice.

I'll try and put it in the php repository, so that it is default and translated by translatewiki. --Kipcool 21:35, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Duplicate DMs

Hello,

I were under the impression that we try to avoid duplicate DMs but now I've realized that you've created three DMs (DefinedMeaning:postura_(1151823), DefinedMeaning:comportamento_(1151847) and DefinedMeaning:conduta_(1151841)) with more or less identical definitions and translations on the same day. Is there any particular reason for this? --dh 21:21, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I've suspected something like this and have already added a note on top of the help page you are creating. Duplicate DMs seem to be one of the biggest problems of OW and merging them is a lot of work. Thank you for your considerations. --dh 16:50, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

P.S.: I for my part never follow the way you describe but just search for all the synonyms and translations I can think of for a meaning (or a word) I have in mind and in case I find a fitting DM, I add translations/synonyms and/or translate the definition, otherwise I create a new DM by clicking on the red link that turns up when an expression is not found. Or, if the word already exists but with another meaning or in another language, one can add a meaning by editing the expression/DM in question. --dh 16:50, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

"revenu"

Hello.

On the DefinedMeaning:ricavo_(455630), why did you declare the French "recette" as an approximate meaning and added "revenue" and "rente" as exact ones? I'm French. To my mind, the exact word for "Compensation for the selling of goods and services." is "recette", while "revenu" and "rente" are wrong. Yours sincerely. --Fiable.biz 12:59, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
