Wiktionary is a project of the Wikimedia Foundation that aims to produce a free, multilingual dictionary with definitions, etymologies, pronunciations, sample quotations, synonyms, antonyms and translations in many languages.
The Wiktionary project uses the MediaWiki software and, it exists in over a hundred languages. Much of the data is added by volunteers while lately a lot of data has been imported from other resources that have either a compatible license or where permission has been granted.
