I wonder about the use of "extinct" in the definition. Pali is still used as the language of the Theravada Buddhist canon and is widely studied, read and even spoken by monks and scholars of Theravada Buddhism.

According to Wikipedia [1] it is a dead language. But according to ethnologue [2] it is an active language.
I also think that the word "extinct" should be removed from the definition. --Kip (talk) 18:27, 22 May 2013 (CEST)
