One of the first Wiki's to be developed is Wiki-Authors. the basic functionality is already in the wikidesktop, but it will be extended with much more functionality, see the draft paper of the workshop on Wikiauthors.

Please also have a look at the pre-publication wiki OpenWetWare, which is an independent initiative, but we intend to work closely together, especially in the field of Wiki-Authors, which will hopefully develop into a 'scientific LinkedIn'.
